At the conclusion of series 1, Sky1 confirmed that the series had been recommissioned for two additional series of 13 episodes each, and a Christmas Special in 2012. The third series began airing from 22nd August 2013. Set in Valco, a fictional supermarket in the north-west of England, Trollied is an eight-part sitcom that puts a comic twist on one of our most familiar surroundings. Acting deputy manager Julie struggles to assert her authority and fails at almost every attempt to make a good impression on store manager Gavin. She also has something of a crush on Gavin, who manages to rebuff her clumsily executed flirtations - that is, if he's aware of them at all..... In Britain we spend half our total shopping bill in supermarkets, Sainsburys has 18 million customers a week and the only place in mainland Britain without a Tesco is Harrogate. They are literally everywhere. Trollied will take this familiar setting and look at the characters who work there. We all know the types: the students doing it for the money, the kids who are too stupid to work anywhere else, the ones who joined five years ago and are stuck there and the ones who ran local shops before the supermarket put them out of business.
