Episode Summary:
It is a really bad day for new science teacher, Sue Spark which ends up leading to a shady alliance with a student. George introduces the school to his new Mandarin teaching assistant, and wife, Princess Windsor. Christine’s cuts causes the pupils to revolt.

About The Series 9: The series focuses on the lives of the school's teachers and students, and confronts social issues such as extramarital affairs, abortion, divorce, child abuse, and suicide.....Waterloo Road is a brilliant programme which every one should watch. It is a comprehensive school in England which is right at the bottom of the league tables and the kids there are worse than you could imagine yet pretty much jokers at the same time.Waterloo Road is produced by Shed Productions, the company responsible for Bad Girls and Footballers' Wives.Waterloo Road Comprehensive isn't doing very well. Many of the teachers feel that their job is pointless, and the pupils couldn't care less about their education. When the Headteacher of the school has a nervous breakdown, Jack Rimmer is promoted to the position, much to his dismay. He knows that if the school doesn't clean up its act soon, it could mean the end. So he decides to hire optimistic teacher Andrew Treneman, who gives up his private school teaching job, in order to improve the situation of Waterloo Road.....The ninth series began on Thursday 5 September 2013.
A cast and crew readthrough for the ninth series took place in Greenock on 28 March 2013. Confirmed returning cast include Heather Peace (Nikki Boston), Melanie Hill (Maggie Budgen), Laurie Brett (Christine Mulgrew), Victoria Bush (Sonya Donnegan), Kane Tomlinson-Weaver (Harley Taylor), Marlene Madenge (Lula Tsibi) and Rebecca Craven (Rhiannon Salt). Georgie Glen (Audrey McFall), Carl Au (Barry Barry), Abby Mavers (Dynasty Barry), Brogan Ellis (Kacey Barry), Kirstie Steele (Imogen Stewart) Shane O'Meara (Connor Mulgrew) and Tommy Knight (Kevin Chalk) are also confirmed to return. Filming on the series commenced the following Monday, 1 April 2013. Mark Beswick (Darren Hughes), Naomi Battrick (Gabriella Wark), Caitlin Gillespie (Lisa Brown) Joe Slater (Lenny Brown), James Young (Larry Brown) and Christopher Chung (Archie Wong) have all been confirmed to make their first appearances in the series. Vanessa Hehir will portray new recently qualified Science teacher Sue Spark.
Philip Martin Brown (Grantly Budgen) has also been confirmed to return, but will depart sometime during the first block of production (episodes 1-10). The character's final scenes were shot in May 2013, and will be broadcast later in the year in what is promised to be a "blockbusting" exit.
